What moves the price
- Structural design — Slab thickness, concrete strength, reinforcing steel, dowels, thickened edges, grade beams, and impact loading control the base cost.
- Dock geometry — Walls, ramps, pits, curbs, elevated slabs, forming height, embeds, bollards, and dock-leveler interfaces add substantial labor and material.
- Operations and phasing — Night or weekend work, partial closures, truck routing, short placement windows, and accelerated curing increase cost.
- Subgrade and demolition — Removal of thick reinforced concrete, excavation, unsuitable soil, aggregate base, compaction testing, and disposal can dominate the budget.
- Placement logistics — Pump requirements, long hose runs, limited ready-mix access, multiple small pours, and special finishing or curing raise unit cost.
