Approved anchor straps can sometimes be used as an alternative, provided they offer equivalent anchorage.
  • Plate Washers: For all anchor bolts along the full length of required braced wall lines, plate washers are generally required, unless approved anchor straps are utilized.
  • Placement Timing: Anchor bolts can be set while the concrete is still plastic, before it fully sets. This allows for precise positioning.

Special Cases for Shorter Walls

These walls need at least one anchor bolt located in the center third of the plate section and must be attached to adjacent braced wall panels at corners.
